Who sees what when you ship

Delivery runs on real names and addresses. This page shows where each one goes, what prints on the label, and what we can't keep private.

Drawn from USPS Ground Advantage test labels we bought on Nov 5, 2026. Other carriers' labels were not part of that check and are not shown here.

Sender block: Your return address if you set one, otherwise the ship-from address. USPS requires a legible domestic return address here.

Who receives which details

  1. Your customerWhatever prints: the sender block, their address, the tracking number, the postage mark, and any reference you add.It is on the parcel in their hands.
  2. USPSThe label, plus the shipment data sent with it, which can include your ship-from address, the return address, phone and email. The carrier needs it to move, deliver and return the parcel. Phone and email are for the carrier's own contact and are not printed.
  3. The postage companyThe shipment details needed to issue the postage: addresses, parcel size and weight, customs details, references.USPS postage on a label is issued by a postage company, whose name prints in the postage mark. It handles this data under its own privacy notice.
  4. ShipYesterdayYour shipments, quotes, labels and wallet lines, stored in our database. We rate and buy your labels, keep your history and account for every charge.
  5. Other ShipYesterday accountsNothing of yours. Each account can read only its own rows. Database policies enforce it and our test suite checks it.

USPS and the postage company each publish their own privacy notice. We don't speak for how they handle data.

What we can't do

Better you read it here than find out at the post office.

What we do

You choose the address that prints
Set a return address and USPS labels show it in place of the ship-from address. Checked on real USPS test labels.
Phone and email stay off the label
They go to the carrier for delivery contact. They did not print on any label we tested.
Your rows are yours
Every account reads only its own shipments, labels, keys and wallet. Database policies enforce it, and tests check it.
Keys are shown once
API keys are stored as a one-way hash. If you lose one, revoke it and make another.
No ad or analytics scripts
This site loads no trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain.
